Linebackers
Since the arrest of jimmy johns and ezekial knight's situation who do you guys think will line up at linebacker against clemson. Given the option's wouldn't one assume that jerrel harris has to open at one of the outside backer spots. What do yall think mark barron's role will be. Im hoping terrance cody can come in and occupy two lineman and free up rolando. Is there anyone we have on the current roster who can really get after the quarterback,.

50 Songs I Love: #40: "Nighttime Ramblin' Man"
![]() #40 HANK WILLIAMS III "Nighttime Ramblin' Man" Album: Lovesick, Broke & Driftin' 2002 |
I'm an "old country" kind of guy: Hank Sr., Cash, Willie, Ernest Tubb, etc. The stuff that passes for country these days is ridiculous. Most of it is little more than "pop with twang." Anyway, Hank III has the pedigree for sure and he gets the job done on the mic as well. Oddly enough, he probably parties harder than his grandpa and dad put together (scary thought), or at least that's the image he's managed to project. There are other, more "old school" songs I would've liked to post instead, but "Nighttime Ramblin' Man" was one of the few high quality clips of his country stuff available on YouTube. Hank III also does a lot of metal, but I prefer his country side.
The List:
50: BLACK LIPS - "Cold Hands"
49: TV ON THE RADIO - "Wolf Like Me"
48: SNOOP DOGG (featuring PHARELL) - "Beautiful"
47: BATTLES - "Atlas"
46: MASTODON - "Blood and Thunder"
45: STARFLYER 59 - "I Win"
44: SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE - "Shelter From the Ash"
43: THE DIRTBOMBS - "Chains of Love"
42: THE WHITE STRIPES - "Seven Nation Army"
41: BECK - "Girl"

Les Miles is an idiot, and in other obvious news...
I am not sure if everyone has seen this quote from the LSU head coach.
There was no question the attendees still bask in last November's victory over former LSU head coach and Tide boss Nick Saban, and Miles brought down the house when he urged the faithful "not to make too much of that game as it seems like a lot of teams in Louisiana beat that team," referencing Alabama's shocking subsequent loss to Louisiana-Monroe.
I have two points that really irritate me about this sort of comment. One, it is designed to appease the lowest common denominator of fan base. I think it is classless, but then again I guess you would have to have class to lose it in the first place. Also, this comes his f-ck bama comment from last year, and his weird inability to refer to Alabama by an anything else than a distant third person reference (that team).
You would just think that someone who had just won a MNC and an SEC title would be able to let that speak for him. I just personally believe he is an idiot, and I look forward to watching him lose. HAVE A GREAT DAY!
As an aside, I know we all probably like Auburn losing more, but who would you rather see the agony of losing on their face; Tubberville, Miles, or Fulmer?

Favorite Bama YouTube Video...
Kickoff is fast approaching, and it's time to start getting mentally fired up about the upcoming season. One of my favorite ways to do this is to watch a bunch of compilations of Bama football on YouTube. My request here is for everyone here to list or link the Alabama Football video that fires you up the most (doesn't have to be YouTube, I guess). I'm talking about chill bumps from start to finish, fighting back the tears because the tradition of Alabama Football just overcomes you. That kind of video or highlight is what I'm looking for here.
I have not seen any great one's lately, but this is the best I've seen in a while. I really just like the song. Just 39 days till kickoff. Let's get fired up...

Helmet Clash!
ESPN's "College Football Live" returns today and they have a cool contest going on. Its called Helmet Clash. Basically they have a matchup each day and you get to vote on which team has the coolest Helmet. The first one is Miami vs Georgia http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/story?page=helmetsmiamigeorgia
Alabama is up against Nevada on Thursday. I thought this would be a good way to show our support and plus its college football talk baby!

50 Songs I Love 41: "Girl"
![]() #41 BECK "Girl" Album: Guero 2005 |
Two entries in a row now where I prove I'm not a total obscurist snob. I'm not a fanatical Beck fan, but I like the albums that I have a lot and don't know why I haven't really kept up with getting his stuff. Anyway, this is the song that got me back into checking out his stuff (I think I stopped around Odelay the first time.)

How do I set up Xbox Live?
I've been playing '09 on the 360, and was wondering what all you have to do, and what all you need, in order to set up Xbox Live? I'm pretty sure there is a subscription fee, but isn't it relatively cheap? Also, I have high-speed Internet, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Anyway, I was hoping some of the more hardcore techies around here could help me out.
And why in the world did SBNation put in this 75 word requirement crap?

50 Songs I Love 42: "Seven Nation Army"
![]() #42 THE WHITE STRIPES "Seven Nation Army" Album: Elephant 2003 |
I'm not always Captain Obscurity. There are plenty of bands I love that sell millions of records and sell lots of concert tickets. The White Stripes are one of those bands. There are a dozen songs I could've picked for them because they've been so prolific, but to me, "Seven Nation Army" is one of their signature songs. The riff is monstrous and catchy and will probably go down as one of the "signature riffs" of our generation...particularly in Europe where it has become an unofficial anthem of sorts at soccer games. Search "Seven Nation Army soccer" on YouTube and you'll find a million videos of soccer related stuff set to that song or like in this video, fans chanting the music.

Tennessee Gets New Unis...
And a little of us dies inside. The guys at 3SIB have the new specs, and I'm afraid it's more puke orange. It looks like their uniforms often did under Majors.

To fulfill the 75 words requirement... puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke, puke.

A.J. McCarron
There are some good stats on ESPN RISE Elite 11 quarterback and Alabama commit A.J. McCarron at the following page: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/football/news/story?id=3490003
My favorite part of the writeup: "Impressed evaluators at the Las Vegas EA SPORTS Elite 11 regional camp by showing good poise, accuracy and consistency." Ah, consistency, ... that's what we need more than anything right now.
We're going to have to bulk him up, though, if he is giong to take the pounding that an SEC quarterback receives -- even one with a good offensive line.
